Heat Pump Installation Cost in New Hampshire
National heat pump guides understate New Hampshire prices for one reason: HVAC installers here earn more. The BLS 2025 median for New Hampshire is $35.51 an hour against $29.33 nationally, an index of +21.1%.
Cost by home size
HomeGuide prices a ducted air-source system by home size. Filterbuy's guide says "labor typically accounts for 40% to 60% of the total installation cost."; this site uses the 50% midpoint and scales that half by the wage index.

Permit fees
Mechanical permits are the most consistently listed item in New Hampshire fee schedules. A few examples for a 2,000 square foot home at the midpoint: Hudson has a flat residential mechanical fee, Durham charges $7 per $1,000 plus $50, and Manchester has a $55 minimum on its heating permit. All of them are on the heat pump cost hub.
What is not included
Ductwork for a house without it (HomeGuide: $40 to $65 per linear foot), electrical service upgrades, and rebates. The federal 25C credit that many guides still mention ended for equipment placed in service after 2025, so it is not shown.
